The Alard-Huxley Family
"A unification of industrial might and humanity on the eve of revolution"
The Alard-Huxley family has played a significant role in promoting the freedom of people and trade for nearly 200 years. We have helped thousands of families escape slavery and built new homes in the Gallante Empire under our 'Free Seas' organisation. More recently we have been working with elements of the Intaki Syndicate in an effort to integrate freed slaves into Gallente and Minmatar society.
Many of the people we help are adopted into the Alard-Huxley family and work in our network of warehouses and colonies earning a fair wage while adding value to the corporate brand.
Our history is rich and well documented. Please stay with us if you would like to know more.
Peregrine Alard, The Patriarch and Founder
Peregrine Alard was born of noble lineage in the Amarr capital city, Dam Torsad in 23184 AD and grew up to win his own prestige and good standing in Holder society while serving as an Artificer in the Amarr Navy. Peregrine's reputation within the military helped greatly in the acquisition of procurement and supply contracts for his family's defense business, propelling the relatively small enterprise right into the industrial elite.

Emmeline Huxley and the Dion Nilo Brotherhood
Not all areas of Dam Torsad felt the heavy, oppressive burden of Amarrian religion. The Dion Nilo Monastery was a compound of climate controlled blue gardens on the outskirts of the city and was administered by a community of secretive liberal monks. The Dion Nilo Brotherhood, as they were known adhered to the dogma and practices of the state religion albeit with some concessions that were easily hidden from the judgmental pious entities that surrounded it. This would eventually grow to include contact with elements outside of Amarian territory that were sympathetic to change.
Emmeline Huxley, born in 23196 AD was a free-spirited and compassionate heir to her family's estate. The Huxley's were private supporters of the Dion Nilo Brotherhood who sought to slowly undermine the religious status quo in a bid to gradually save the Amarr Empire from itself. Emmeline would end up spending much of her youth within the walls. of Dion Nilo and the dangerous political opinions of it's residents would form at the center of her moral compass.
After the Amarr Navy's defeat at the Battle of Vak'Atioth and the subsequent Minmatar rebellion, The Dion Nilo Brotherhood's political aspirations became actions as it facilitated the emancipation of thousands of slaves that had risen up against their owners. This didn't last however; the activists were rounded up and violently executed as the city authorities gradually restored order. The Dion Nilo Monastery was purged and it's garden's destroyed.
The Unlikely Partnership
The Huxley household endured several seasons of social turmoil as their rumored association with the shamed Dion Nilo Brotherhood spread like a plague across the other holder families. Emmeline had come of age and was fair and beautiful but her chances of finding a husband had diminished significantly as the stigma took hold.
The shift in attitude and activity among Dam Torsad's slave workforce forced Peregrine to re-imagine his business model. This was more of a moral dilemma than a financial one but the new political climate opened doors that had been closed to forward thinking entrepreneurs.
Ambition and intrigue had caused Peregrine to seek out Emmeline; who was creatively and physically gifted yet tarnished and damaged in the eyes of society. The two would eventually meet a couple of years after the uprising. Many of the Amarian colonies had long since regained control of their cities and the Amatari Mandate was firmly established. The Alard Hold by this time was already embracing the new world with trade deals that were previously unimaginable. Peregrine had sought out the Huxley family for their connections to Caldari and Gallente corporations, something which the Huxley family fervently denied all knowledge of. Familiarity and aligned goals, however, would build a relationship of trust between the two families and the partnership would eventually be secured with marriage.

Alard-Huxley Unification
The unification of both families through wedlock was not immediate. The Huxley name was still in disrepute but Emmeline had adjusted well to the arrangement and Peregrine was keen to impress his future wife while protecting his own reputation in the process. Peregrine had learned alot from his dealings with the Amarian elite and had a team of agents working to spin the rumours in The Huxley family's favour.
Finally in the year 23221 AD Peregrine Alard and Emmeline Huxley were joined in matrimony and the Alard-Huxley family made its entry into the Holder demographic.
